Jackson Square is a historic park in the French Quarter of New Orleans. It is located on the block made by St. Peter Street, St. Ann Street, Decatur Street, and Chartres Street.
It is surrounded by St. Louis Cathedral, the Pontalba Buildings and the Presbytère.
Under French rule it was called "La Plaza d'Armas" and executions took place there. Later it was dedicated to Andrew Jackson and has a statue of him on the center.
The shape of the park forms two concentric circles, a pattern betraying that the Voodoo Hounfour was below its ground.
Jackson Square is divided into four quarters (four separate screens, or a single screen in the 20th Anniversary Edition).
